The Intelistage 1x1m is a single carpeted stage deck on a 20cm riser, and it's the module the whole Intellistage modular staging system builds from. Made by Road Ready, Intellistage is a world-renowned name in portable staging, and the range covers choral risers, seated risers, catwalks and ramps as well as plain platforms.
You hire as many decks as your stage needs, so a 4m x 2m platform is eight of them. Each deck locks to its neighbours, so straight runs, L-shapes and catwalks come from the same parts, and for taller stages we also carry the Staging 2x1m Aludeck system. Each deck is plywood with a honeycomb core, framed in aluminium, and light enough for one person to carry and lock in place. The collapsible risers fold flat, so decks stack for storage and take up little room in the van, and the finished platform is rated at up to 900kg per square metre, which puts a full choir or a band with backline well inside the numbers.
What people build with it
They end up as nativity and school production stages, prize-giving platforms, presentation decks for conferences and awards nights, and catwalks for fashion shows. Our catwalk packages pair the square platforms with two matching quarter-round risers, which gives the runway its finished, professional look. Skirt valances can dress the front if you'd rather the legs were hidden.
Where it works
Any flat indoor floor suits it, and outside it goes on grass or hard standing. It's not suitable for bare concrete outdoors, ground that's half grass and half hard, or wood chip, so it's worth checking the surface before you plan the layout.
