Generator and Safety Equipment Hire for Bouncy Castle Hire in Sheffield, Rotherham, Worksop, Doncaster & Barnsley
We are BIG on safety! This is the category for the power and site-safety kit that everything else plugs into: generators, distribution, fencing, barriers and the staff hours to go with them. Every generator goes out with safety fencing and fire extinguishers, and we'll add flood lighting and event signage on request.
Diesel generators, 5 to 30 kVA
The silenced diesel fleet runs from a 5 kVA set at £130 up to a 30 kVA towable at £375, with 6, 10 and 20 kVA in between. The 20 Kva Diesel Generator turns a genuine Kubota engine at 64dBA, and its bunded long-range tank runs up to 41 hours at 75% load, so it'll see a full weekend through without refuelling. Every set goes out with a full tank of fuel, and extra fuel hours are £20, £30 or £40 for two, three or four. For small jobs there's a 1kw Petrol Silent Petrol Generator, and the Self Powered Blower Inc 4 hours Fuel keeps an inflatable up where there's no mains power at all.
Silent battery power for indoors
Where a diesel set isn't welcome, exhibition halls, filming locations and venues with noise conditions on the licence, the Instagrid 2.1 kWh Battery Generator supplies silent, zero-emission 230V power from a 20 kg unit you can carry by hand. Link two together and you get 6.3 kWh: for zero-emission events, hire our Instagrid LINK 6.3kWh Power Bank from £295.
Distribution and cable management
Power doesn't stop at the generator socket. We hold 32A IMST distribution units in 240V single-phase and 415V three-phase, including a four-way 16A output box, from £25, plus 1m cable protectors at £2.50 to keep cable runs safe across walkways. On a bigger site we can plan the full cable management, and the Bunded Diesel Towable tank for hire at £275 keeps long-running sets fed.
Fencing, barriers and site safety
Heras temporary fencing from £10 a panel, with a vehicle access gate set at £25 when you need a gap for vans. Metal crowd control barriers at £10, Tensa Barrier/ Stretch Barriers / Belt Barrier Hire at £7.50 for indoor queues, ground protection mats at £10 and road cones from £150. The Mobile Fire Point Trolley 20kg at £45 covers the fire point requirement on licensed sites.
Staff by the hour
DB staff can be booked from 3 hours at £130 up to 8 at £345, to run the games, supervise the kit or marshal the site. Pinx Salon, who have used us for their annual charity fun day since 2013, said: "We always book the activities to be staffed and powered, which leaves us to concentrate on other aspects on the day."
Lighting and heating
The grid below also carries the marquee lighting and heating range: 150W LED Floodlight fittings from £5, LED strip lights, emergency exit and flood lights for marquees, and the Super Silent Lighting Tower at £395 with its own generator for sites that need light after dark. Gazebo and infrared heaters from £80 cover the cold-weather events.
Good to know
The diesel sets are outdoor kit, fine on grass or hard standing but not indoors, which is what the Instagrid units are for. If you hire a 20 kVA on its own we'll need to see plant hire insurance; book it alongside other kit from us and it doesn't apply.
Everything on this page is carried in-house at our Rotherham warehouse, five minutes from the M1. We deliver across Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop, Chesterfield and the rest of the UK, 95% of the equipment we hire out is owned and maintained by us, risk assessments and method statements are emailed to you or your venue before the event, and it's all covered by our £5 million public liability insurance.
Questions we get asked
What size generator do I need for a bouncy castle? A typical castle blower draws around 1.1 kW, so allow roughly 2 kVA per blower with headroom. The 5 or 6 kVA silenced diesel covers a couple of inflatables plus lighting.
Do the generators come with fuel? Yes, every set goes out full. Extra fuel hours are £20, £30 and £40 for two, three or four hours.
Can a generator run indoors? No diesel set should, and our suitability panels say so. For indoor power we bring the Instagrid battery units instead: silent, zero emission and fine on any surface.
If there's anything you need that you can't see on the website, fill in the enquiry page or phone the office on 0114 345 0135. We can usually source it, or it may already be sitting on our event stock.
Pick what you need from the grid below, add it to your quote, and we'll get back to you the same day.
