A Didicar is a self-propelled ride-on with no pedals and no batteries. The rider wiggles the steering wheel and the car scoots forward, which takes a moment to click and then becomes very hard to stop doing. Children pick it up within a few feet, adults have a go to prove they still can, and a set of four turns a hall floor or a smooth patio into a race track.
Hire covers a set of four Didicars in assorted colours, so there's one per racer and no queue to manage. They work on any hard, smooth, flat surface, indoors or out, and because there's nothing to plug in and no setup at all, they can go in a village hall, a school gym, a nursery or a driveway party. Nurseries and toddler groups like them because every lap is quiet balance and coordination practice dressed up as racing.

From £35 for the set of four, delivered and collected by our own drivers. Delivered orders carry a £50 minimum spend, so the Didicars usually join another hire on the same van. Didicar is an add-on rather than a standalone booking, so there is no quote button on this page - add it from the extras list when you get a quote on any other item, or get in touch and we'll put the booking together for you.
Practical Details
- Price: from £35 including VAT (£29.17 excluding VAT) for a set of four Didicars. Overnight hire is available for an extra £25.
- The kit: four self-propelled Didicars in assorted colours. No pedals, no batteries, nothing to plug in.
- Riders: children primarily, and most adults can ride one too. Check the weight you expect before booking if grown-ups will be racing.
- Surfaces: any hard, smooth, flat surface, indoors or outdoors. Not suitable for grass, artificial grass, concrete, wood chip or mixed surfaces - the wheels need a smooth floor to grip.
- Space: a clear run of a few metres gives riders room to turn; a hall or large patio is ideal.
- Staff: hire is unstaffed as standard, and we can add a supervisor if you'd like races organised.
- Minimum spend: delivered orders carry a £50 minimum spend plus delivery cost, so the Didicars usually join another hire. Collection from our Rotherham warehouse is possible instead, subject to a deposit and photo ID.
