Double Six Youth Club is on Scarsdale Road in Woodseats, Sheffield, S8 8TE, at the crossroads with Chesterfield Road. The club has been running since 1966 - hence the name - from a former chapel that was officially opened by entertainer Frankie Vaughan in 1967. It's a registered charity run by trained youth workers and volunteers, led for over twenty years by a youth worker who attended the club himself as a young person, and it reopened after a £1.5 million refurbishment funded by the Government's Youth Investment Fund.
The building
The refurbishment added a second floor above the main hall - a private, spacious room that can be rented on its own - plus a multi-use games area outside on Scarsdale Road and a garden with planters and seating on the Chesterfield Road front. Inside there's the main hall, a lounge and a meeting room, a fitted kitchen, accessible toilets and wireless internet, with disabled access at ground level.
Hiring the hall
Around its term-time youth sessions, the club takes private bookings for classes, events, workshops and children's birthday parties at weekends and during the school day. For children's parties in the main hall, our bouncy castles, bouncy slides and disco domes are popular choices for indoor venues this size. Younger guests are well catered for with soft play sets in jungle, pirate and princess themes, and older children and teenagers tend to go for Whack a Mole, prize cranes and other arcade games. We've delivered to the club ourselves, so we know the hall and the load-in.
Open days, fundraisers and adult parties
For youth-club open days, charity fundraisers and adult parties we hire photo booths, the Magic Selfie Mirror and fun food carts including candy floss and popcorn, all with trained staff included. The outdoor games area opens up larger options such as assault courses and sport inflatables when the weather is on your side.
