The last of our 2017 investment posts, and a simple one to bring up to date: the range has kept growing every year since. There are now over 600 products across 68 categories on this website, and around 95% of that kit is owned by us and stacked in the 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, a short hop off the M1 with the A1 and M18 both close by.
What 68 categories covers
The headings cover more ground than people expect. Bouncy castles and mega slides for gardens and parties in Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley. Assault courses from short garden lengths up to the 220ft Bootcamp, which turns back on itself to fit a 100ft x 41ft site. Rodeo bulls, funfairs with dodgems and helter skelters, exhibition games for trade stands at the NEC and ExCeL, photo booths including the AI booth that builds a new picture around each guest, plus climbing walls, laser quest, stages, marquees and PA.
Ownership matters on the day. When most of the fleet sits in our own warehouse, the van that arrives has our name on it and the crew that builds the rodeo works for us, which is also why the same kit comes out clean, tested and with the paperwork sent over before the event. If something needs swapping or sorting on site, the decision happens there and then, with no third-party supplier to ring.
It also keeps pricing straightforward. Most domestic hires - castles, slides, soft play and the like - show their prices right on the page, and the green Get A Quote button on every product adds the item to a quote basket that you hear back on the same working day, availability and delivered price included. Corporate and multi-item bookings get built the same way, just with a bit more conversation about access, power and crowd flow.
How the range gets used
Most events pull from four or five categories at once. A school fun day might take a bouncy slide, a climbing wall, a handful of side games and a PA. A corporate family fun day at a racecourse or stadium adds Segways and the Bootcamp course. A wedding wants the photo booth and soft play for the younger guests. The categories exist so you can price a whole event up in one quote basket and see what the total looks like before you commit to anything.
John Hays wrote on Trustpilot in August 2024: "We have used DB Entertainment for over 9 yrs. We had over 800 kids to entertain. The team pulled out all the stops." Nine years of custom and 800 kids in a day, and it all comes off the same shelves in Rotherham as the 8am garden castle.
What the range does not cover
A couple of limits worth knowing. Jobs outside South Yorkshire carry a £999 minimum order, so very small hires further afield are not economical for either side. Very large funfair builds need proper vehicle access and ground conditions, and some sites cannot offer them; we will say so before a deposit changes hands. And every inflatable goes out annually tested under the PIPA and RPII schemes, so if a certificate is missing from a quote, ask for it.
To see the range properly, start with the category menus on any product page, or ring the office on 0114 345 0135 and describe the event to whoever picks up - they'll price it from there.
