Throne chair hire gives you an oversized handcrafted gold throne, roughly 180cm tall with deep red velvet-style upholstery, carved lion-head arm fronts and a crown-and-shield crest at the top. It works as the seat of honour at a top table, a photo backdrop or a grotto centrepiece, and our own crew delivers it, places it and collects it afterwards, across Yorkshire and nationwide. Hit the green Get A Quote button on the throne chair page and we will send availability and a delivered price straight over.
What the chair is
The frame is rigid and gold-painted, with carved legs ending in paw feet and sculpted lion heads on the arm fronts. The back is diamond-buttoned with gold studs along the seat edge, and the whole thing is substantially bigger than a domestic armchair: about 180cm overall height, 92cm wide and 72cm deep, with a seat height of 56cm and armrests at 74cm. It is a handcrafted piece, and in photographs it reads as a proper throne.
It is built for indoor use, which is the main limit to know about before you book. Marquees, hotels, function rooms and halls are all fine; wet grass and a November garden are not. If your event is outdoors, tell us and we will work out whether there is a sheltered spot that does the job.
Who hires thrones, and for what
Weddings take a pair as King and Queen chairs at the top table. Christmas grottos take a single one as the centrepiece for Santa, and we can pair it with the rest of our Christmas range. Award nights and proms use it as the photo spot, and themed casino and royal-themed parties book it as the piece everyone ends up sitting in for a photo. We can supply one or two - a pair works better for weddings and joint photo setups - just tell us which in your enquiry.
The chair is at its best next to something that captures the photos. Photo booth hire or a Magic Selfie Mirror beside the throne turns it into a proper photo corner, and that combination is the most common way we send it out. For royal-themed children’s parties it often sits alongside a princess party package.
What is included, and what is not
The hire covers the throne (one or a pair, as booked), the delivery run both ways with setup by our crew, and insurance against public liability claims up to £5m as standard. We have been supplying event props and equipment from Rotherham since 1999, with three motorways - the M1, the A1 and the M18 - a five-minute drive from the warehouse door, and the whole operation holds 5 out of 5 on Google across 209+ reviews.
One thing to plan around: the chair itself has no branding panel. The seat and back are permanent fitted upholstery and the shields on the crest are moulded into the frame, so a sponsor logo or a couple’s names cannot go on the chair. For branded photo setups we suggest carrying the branding on a backdrop, a printed floor cover beside the chair or a themed prop surround, and we can point you at the right option when you enquire.
Booking one
Pricing is quoted per job, because delivered cost varies with distance and whether you take one chair or a pair - the quote you get back is the full delivered price, no setup extras added afterwards. Regular delivery runs cover most of South Yorkshire, with nationwide delivery for larger bookings - the delivery page has the full map. If you would rather talk it through with a person, the office number is 0114 345 0135 and they will tell you straight whether a throne makes sense for your event, or you can add the throne chair from its page when you are getting a quote anyway.
