The Instagrid ONE max is a 2.1kWh battery that gives you silent 230V mains power - no engine, no fuel, no exhaust. It weighs around 20kg, so one person carries it, it hires from £125, and that makes it the answer for events where a generator would be the loudest thing on site, or the only thing you can smell.
The specs that matter
3600W of continuous power at 230V AC, with an 18kW peak to cover start-up surges. It recharges in about two and a half hours from empty, runs fanless so it's genuinely silent, and is IP-rated for indoor and outdoor use. There are no fumes, so it can sit indoors right next to the kit it's powering - in a marquee, on a film set, on an exhibition stand. It works with standard 16A extension cables, splitters and step-ups, so if you've run distro before, this plugs straight into it.
What it runs
A full DJ rig or PA system, event lighting, AV screens, exhibition stand power, camera and charging kit on film locations. Two units chained cover a small stage. It suits noise-sensitive venues too - a registry office wedding, a museum late, a filming location where the sound recordist has already told you off once - because there's no engine to hush and no generator to park behind a hedge forty metres away.
When diesel is still the right call
We own both, so this isn't a battery sales pitch. A full funfair ride line-up or a festival main stage needs proper generators, and that's what we supply for those jobs. The Instagrid covers the jobs in between: a wedding marquee that needs a PA and lighting, a corporate fun day running a Batak wall and a photo booth, a brand activation in a shopping centre where the venue won't allow combustion engines inside. What comes with the hire
The unit itself, 16A extension cables on request, delivery and collection by our own crew, and technical support by phone for the whole hire. The side panels take printed wraps, so a brand activation can carry its identity right down to the power supply.
The kit lives in the same warehouse as everything else we hire - 25,000 sq ft of it, between Rotherham and Sheffield - and it goes out in our own vans with £5m public liability cover as standard.
