Eight Christmas games we hire out across South Yorkshire and nationwide, with how each one plays, what it needs from your room and how the prizes and leaderboards work. Every one is delivered, set up and run by our own team - the company has been at it since 1999, and December is our busiest month for exactly this kit.
1. Whack a Snowman
A Whack a Snowman is two players, two tethered foam mallets, lit snowman pads and a digital scoreboard. Every hit scores, and the highest score when the timer runs out wins the round. It is free play, so no coins, and the rules explain themselves - the first player just starts swinging and everyone else gets the idea. Great for office parties and school fairs, and the mallets are soft enough that nobody needs a safety briefing beyond "mind the bloke next to you".
2. Batak Snowball Smash
The Batak Snowball Smash: under the snowman wrap this is a genuine Batak Pro reaction wall, the same twelve-target LED machine F1 teams use for reaction training and the one Jenson Button used to set a reaction world record. Targets light at random, you hit as many as you can in a 30-second round, and the twin displays keep the score. Short rounds mean a queue of players keeps moving, and a works party tends to end up with a standing leaderboard by the end of the night. We first wrapped one for Amazon's Peak Wonderland winter events, and we are a repeat supplier at Amazon sites across the UK.
3. Reindeer Racing
Reindeer Racing: four players grab reindeer-headed poles - blue, yellow, red or green - and pump them to race along a tabletop track. From £499, which includes a trained operator for up to three hours, so your guests do not run the game. It is table-height and indoor only, and it suits after-dinner slots because four race, everyone else watches and the heats are quick.
4. Bounce a Ball Reindeer Racing
The donkey derby from end-of-the-pier arcades, rebuilt as a reindeer race. Bounce balls up the sloped lane into coloured target holes; each ball that lands moves your reindeer along, and the holes score differently, so aim beats luck. Balls roll straight back down to the players, so the race runs without anyone fetching. Run it as teams of two for a knockabout tournament with a small prize for the winning lane.
5. Rodeo Reindeer
Our most popular Christmas hire. Riders hold on while the operator turns the speed up gradually, and a digital timer tracks each ride, so the competition runs itself: longest stay wins. We can run the whole thing as a tournament with a leaderboard and certificates for the best reindeer rider of the night, which costs nothing extra and gives the office something to argue about in January.
6. The Vault
Thirty seconds, a speeding white light and a shrinking red target zone, five unlock rounds in a run. One trigger button, so anyone picks it up in seconds, and children and adults both play it. It works well as a pay-to-play fundraiser too - charge a pound a go, and the top score of the night takes half the pot.
7. Prize Crane Grabber
The prize crane grabber, filled with whatever you put in it - vouchers, plush toys, branded merch. The win rate is fully adjustable, from prize-every-time for giveaways up to a proper test of nerve, and the panels can be branded to your event. Set a higher win rate late in the night if you want the machine emptied by home time.
8. Grab A Grand
The cash cube. Step into the clear tank, the door shuts, the fan turns the notes into a whirlwind and you have about 30 seconds to grab what you can. Real cash for a headline prize or printed vouchers so the notes come back for the next event. It is the one with the polished frame, clear panels and built-in colour-changing LEDs - possibly the finest looking cash cube machine available for hire.
Prizes and leaderboards
The rodeo reindeer logs ride times, the Batak wall scores every round, and both can be run as a tournament with a small trophy or a bottle behind the bar. The prize crane and Grab A Grand take your own prizes: vouchers survive a whirlwind better than cash, and branded merch goes further at a corporate do than a bag of sweets. We can supply magnetic score leaderboards for the reaction games too, so the running totals stay up on the wall.
What a booking includes
Every game on this list comes with delivery, set-up and collection by our own team from our Rotherham base, and operators on the games that need them. The safety paperwork goes to you and the venue ahead of the day, public liability sits at £5m on every booking, and we bring safety fencing and mats where the kit calls for them. If the venue is outside South Yorkshire - we deliver nationwide for larger bookings - say so at the quoting stage and we will price the travel into the same figure so there are no surprises later.
All eight are on the Christmas category page alongside grottos, snow globes and market stalls. On the day itself the feedback is usually about the staff as much as the kit - Melissa Lightfoot said after a Christmas fair: "your staff were attentive and polite and very efficient delivery nice and early (as requested)." Tell us the headcount, the room and whether you want prizes supplied or bring your own, and we will quote the lot - the number for that is 0114 345 0135. A last practical point: the four-player tables and the cash cube need roughly a van-load of floor space each, so a cramped office is better served by the two-player games on this list.
