DB Entertainment supplies Segway X2 experiences for corporate events, team building days and private parties across the UK. We run the Segway X2 - the off-road model with oversized all-terrain tyres, a wide track and raised ground clearance - and maintain every unit in-house at our 25,000 sq ft warehouse near Sheffield.
Each booking comes with a fully trained instructor who briefs every rider, lays out a coned obstacle course and runs the session from start to finish. The X2 takes riders from 7 stone up to 18.4 stone (117 kg), so it works for ages 10 and up. Each machine handles up to 20 riders an hour; run two or three together and you can put 40 to 60 people through in a single hour. That's why Segways suit corporate fun days and team building events where the queue has to keep moving.
Why hire from DB
We've been in event entertainment for over 25 years and own 95% of our kit in-house, Segways included - so there are no subcontractors turning up with unfamiliar machines. Most Segway hire firms are quote-only and based in the South East; we publish our pricing upfront (from £595+VAT for two machines) and our central UK base keeps delivery sensible whether you're in Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop or further afield.
Every booking carries £5 million public liability insurance, plus risk assessments and method statements as standard. The X2s run on lithium-ion batteries - no generator, no mains - and your instructor handles setup, course layout, safety briefing and pack-down. All we need from you is a reasonably flat patch of around 20m x 40m, ideally grass - the X2 won't run on outdoor concrete or wood chip.

Space and ground
- Minimum area: 20m x 40m (more space is always better)
- Best on grass, but works on most flat surfaces including tarmac and gravel
- Not suitable for outdoor concrete or wood chip
The X2's low-pressure off-road tyres are gentler on turf than most motorised activities. You may see light tracks on the grass afterwards depending on weather and ground conditions, but they won't churn up the ground the way quad bikes or go-karts would.

Throughput
Each X2 handles up to 20 riders an hour. Two machines gives 40 per hour; three gives 60 per hour.
Delivery
Based in our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, 5 minutes from the A1, M1 and M18. We deliver across South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and nationwide - delivery charges may apply depending on location.
Questions we get asked
Do I need to provide power? No. The X2s run on lithium-ion batteries with a range of around 12 miles per charge - no mains, no generator.
Can we add Segways to a larger event package? Yes. We carry over 600 hire products, so Segways can sit alongside inflatables, games, staging and catering on a single booking.
What happens if it rains? The X2 is built for outdoor, all-terrain use, so light rain is fine. In heavy rain or storms your instructor pauses the session until conditions are safe.
Is there a maximum rider weight? The X2 supports riders up to 18.4 stone (117 kg). Minimum rider weight is 7 stone, so the sensors register properly.
Are Segways legal to ride? Segways can only be ridden on private land in the UK. Your instructor sets the course up on your event site, so no public roads are involved.
