Hire 500kg Concrete Marquee Weights

500kg precast concrete counterweights for anchoring marquees, stages, gazebos and other temporary structures wherever you can't peg down, whether that's car parks and showground hard standing or grass where a peg would hit buried services. The trade calls them marquee weights, ballast blocks or kentledge. Ratchet straps run down over the blocks from the structure, and the surface underneath is left exactly as it was - nothing drilled, staked or dug.

At half a tonne each, handling is the thing to plan. Every block is cast with a fork pocket in the base so a pallet truck or forklift can shift it, and there's a 2.5-tonne DEHA spherical-head anchor in the top for off-loading by hi-ab or crane. The chamfered edges take the odd knock during install. You'll need machine handling on site, because nobody man-handles half a tonne of concrete.

The same blocks line up as hostile vehicle mitigation at markets, town centre events and council-run sites. With Martyn's Law (the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025) on the statute book, organisers of public events are increasingly expected to show how they've managed vehicle risk, and a row of half-tonne blocks is a straightforward answer to that. Hire runs from £15 per block and gets cheaper the longer you keep them. Collection is from our main base in Rotherham, where we have full loading capabilities - Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley and Worksop are a short run away - or we'll quote transport separately on a flat bed or a Moffett-equipped lorry that offloads on site. The blocks are also available to buy outright.
