The 1kVA petrol generator is the smallest petrol set we run: a self-contained suitcase unit with the engine, fuel tank and 230V sockets all in one case you can carry by hand. It's for when normal 240V power isn't available, which covers a lot of events: a stall at the edge of a field, a marquee on the lawn, a car park with no sockets in sight. It will run up to 900 watts, enough for a 500W PA, lighting and phone charging with headroom to spare.

Know its limits
900 watts won't run a kettle, a heater or a bouncy castle blower, which draws around 1.1kW on its own. For inflatables with no mains, book the Self Powered Blower Inc 4 hours Fuel instead, and for bigger loads our silenced diesel sets run from 5 kVA at £130 up to a 30 kVA towable at £375. How it runs
It's an inverter set, so the output is clean and stable enough for laptops, card machines and other sensitive electronics. Engine speed follows the load rather than running flat out, which keeps it quiet and makes the fuel last. Being petrol, it lives outdoors a few metres from the action with nothing around its exhaust.

Every generator leaves us with a full tank, safety fencing and a fire extinguisher, and everything on this page is carried in-house at our Rotherham warehouse, five minutes from the M1. Risk assessments are emailed to you or your venue before the event under our £5 million public liability cover. We cover Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop and Chesterfield on the regular runs, and the rest of the UK by arrangement.
