21 March 2017 - Our New Website is launched

The 2017 revamp of this website has been running a good while now, and it's picked up plenty of new kit and features along the way. If you've not used the site for a few years, here's how it works today, written by the people who answer the phone when a quote comes in.

Build a quote with the green button

Most products on the site have a green Get A Quote button. Click it and the item goes into your quote basket, which works like a shopping basket, and you can keep browsing while it builds up. Add a Spider Mountain for the main event, then a couple of stalls from the funfair range, and send the basket over as one enquiry. We come back the same working day with availability and a delivered price. Nothing's committed at that point - the basket is a shortlist, not an order.

A few items, mostly extras such as generators and safety fencing, sit outside the quote flow. Those get added from the extras list once you have a quote, or you can ring the office and we'll bolt them on for you.

Check your delivery area before anything else

Every page has a postcode box in the header: type your postcode in and the site tells you whether we deliver there and what the charge is likely to be. The delivery page lists the whole thing in full, postcode area by postcode area. Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop and Chesterfield are the home patch, and most domestic hires there carry the standard rate. We cover the rest of the UK too, but jobs outside South Yorkshire carry a £999 minimum order, so it's worth a look before you fall in love with a 220ft assault course.

There's an honest limit on that page as well. If we can't deliver because of weather, vehicle failure or illness, you're told at the earliest opportunity and you get a full refund. What the site can't check is your garden gate: space and access questions are still yours to answer, and the delivery page sets out what our drivers need on the day.

Finding your way around 600 products

There are over 600 products on the site now, sorted into 68-odd categories, so the search box is usually the quickest way round it. The category menus down the side of the page do the same job if you'd rather browse: bouncy castles for the garden party, exhibition games for the corporate stand, mega slides and assault courses when the space allows. Each product page carries its footprint, height and power requirements under the specifications tab, which is the bit worth checking before you get a quote.

Prices are shown on the site for the majority of domestic hire, and around 95% of the equipment listed is owned by us and held in the 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham. The fleet has kept growing since this post first went up - Spider Mountain, the AI photo booth and the 220ft Bootcamp course have all arrived since - and the newer posts on this news page record most of it.

Booking through the site is only half of it, of course. The other half is the morning the van turns up. "Hired a bouncy castle from DB Entertainment for my daughter's birthday, it was delivered promptly at 8am by a very friendly, helpful and informative guy," Jackie Hague wrote on Google. "The castle was spotless and in perfect condition." That's the same office, the same warehouse and the same drivers whether you book online or on the phone.

If the site doesn't answer something, give the office a ring on 0114 345 0135 - someone who knows the kit will pick up.
