Six table-top carnival games came over from the USA in spring 2020 and now form their own package: King of the Hill, Roller Bowler, Flap Attack, Whip n Skip, Maze Runner and Strike Zone. Each is a skill game you can explain in ten seconds, none needs mains power, and all six were built to be played again and again at the same event - which is what you want from a game that sits out all afternoon.
The King of the Hill asks for three yellow balls rolled up a slope into five holes worth 25, 50 or 100 points, and the 100-pointer takes a careful roll. The Roller Bowler is the classic pub trick rebuilt six foot long: get your ball to sit on the far side of the hump without it rolling back - too soft and it stalls, too hard and it comes straight back to you. The Flap Attack runs two lanes side by side, so every turn is head-to-head: stop your ball on the highest of seven numbered flaps without rolling it clean off the end.
The Whip n Skip sends a puck round a U-turn back towards three targets, and the Strike Zone shrinks ten-pin bowling onto a six-foot table - three pucks, seven skittles, strike wins. The Maze Runner is the one that keeps people standing there: turn the ship's wheel to tilt the whole play head and steer your ball from START to FINISH before the digital countdown beats you.
None of the six needs mains power, they all sit on trestle tables, and they work indoors or out - which is what makes them the easy choice for school events, corporate fun days, weddings and the smaller bookings where a bouncy castle would dominate the garden. The carnival games work best as a set: three or four tables in a row give a fete corner that stays busy, and a full six turns any hall into a fairground for the evening. Strike Zone hires at £169 plus VAT; the rest are priced per package, and multi-game deals bring the per-game cost down.
A limit worth knowing: these are games of skill for a few players at a time, so a very large crowd needs them alongside something with bigger throughput - a rodeo bull or an assault course - rather than instead of it. Tell us the space and the crowd on 0114 345 0135 and we'll say which of the six to take.
