The Prize Crane Grabber is the arcade claw machine you remember from the seaside, scaled up for events and hired out with the prizes and the win rate under your control. You move the handle, line the claw up over a prize ball and drop it - if the claw holds, the prize comes back to the drop zone and the player keeps it. We bought the first ones in for a Christmas season and they've been busy ever since, out at corporate parties, brand activations, exhibition stands and wedding receptions.
Fill it with your own prizes
The machine takes whatever fits a prize ball, which is the whole appeal for promoters. We supply plush teddies and soft toys, pre-filled capsules with small toys inside, or empty capsules you fill with keyrings, vouchers, discount codes or your own merchandise. For competition setups we stock coloured plastic balls: fill the crane with black balls and just a few red winners, or use gold and silver balls to build prize tiers. Pop a numbered slip inside the capsules and the crane runs as a prize draw, which works well when the top prize is something the machine physically can't hold - a weekend away, for instance.
The win rate is yours to set
Claw strength is adjustable across the whole range, from a win on every play for giveaways and children's parties up to one win in a hundred attempts, where landing a prize genuinely feels like an achievement. On a promotional stand the sweet spot is usually somewhere in between, enough winners going home with your keyring to keep the queue there without emptying the prize budget in the first hour. There's no standard answer to where to set it; it depends what's in the machine and what a win is worth to you, and we'll help you work it out.
Branding and footprint
The cranes come in white, red and a purple/green finish, all built on a neutral base so the windows and body panels take full custom graphics - our in-house branding team has wrapped them for clients including Amazon and Bishops Printers. LED lighting in the cabinet makes it work on an evening event. The unit measures 3.8ft by 2.3ft and stands 6.2ft tall, needs a 5ft by 3ft space, runs off a standard 13A socket and sits on castors, so it can be repositioned across a stand or a venue during the day without dismantling anything.
What the hire includes
Pricing runs from £475 for a day to £995 for a full week, plus VAT, and every hire includes delivery, setup and collection by our trained crew, the winning balls, and £5 million public liability insurance with risk assessments supplied. If you want the machine staffed for the whole booking we can send a trained attendant, and when we supply staff your organisation is covered on our policy under indemnity to principal - the sort of detail corporate procurement teams tend to ask for. We're flexible on delivery and collection days if the venue's schedule needs it. One limit worth knowing: it's a one-player machine, so at a big event it works best as part of a cluster of games, with this one as the anchor - the Ballnado Grabber and Grab a Grand are the usual companions, and the rest of the arcade games range fits the same brief. For children's parties it's the opposite - one crane set to prize every time is plenty.
