A marquee or temporary structure is the quickest way to add covered space to an event, a school yard or a workplace, and we’ve been hiring them out from our warehouse in Rotherham since 1999. Here’s a plain guide to what’s in the fleet, what it costs, and what it needs to stand on.
What’s in the fleet
The core of the range is commercial pop-up gazebos: 3m x 3m from £85 and 3m x 4.5m from £95, which gives you 13.5 square metres of cover on the bigger size, give or take. We hold large stock of both, because a school fun day in Doncaster or a market in Barnsley usually needs a row of shelters up before the gates open, and one on its own covers very little. Put two or more side by side and rain gutters join them into one continuous run of cover for caterers, traders or a walkway between buildings.
For markets and longer seasonal bookings there’s the Christmas Market Stall Hire, a 3m x 4.5m mini marquee with a timber-look market hut frontage. Underneath the cladding it’s an industrial, council-compliant shelter, and we hold up to ten of them for town councils, schools and businesses running markets, light switch-ons and festive fairs across Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley. Weekend or season-long market hires get discounted rates.
What it stands on
The ground decides how we anchor, so tell us the surface when you book and we’ll bring the right kit. On grass the frames pin down with stakes. On tarmac and concrete they need weight, which is where the 500kg concrete marquee weights (from £15) and the 2.5m concrete jersey barrier (from £12.50) come in. If the ground is soft or uneven, Roll a Track Flooring from £120 goes underneath; it’s non-slip and comfortable to walk on. Sides and backs are available for the gazebos, and all of it is happy on grass or hard standing.
Lighting, power and furniture
Cover is only half the job. Party Marquee Lighting starts at £25, festoon lighting from £149, and there are LED strip lights and 150W floodlights for bigger areas. Where there’s no mains power, a 30kVA diesel generator from £375 and power distribution sorts it. 6ft tables from £6 and deck chairs from £6 cover the seating. If you want the whole thing bundled, the Party Marquee Hire package starts at £89 and adds flooring, seating, sound and heating as you go up the options.
What’s included, and the limits
Our own crew delivers, erects and stakes every unit down properly before we leave site, and comes back to dismantle at the end. Every hire sits under £5 million of public liability cover, and risk assessments land in your inbox, or your venue’s, before the day. The limit to know about: these are pop-up structures, not traditional pole marquees, so a full wedding breakfast for 150 guests under canvas is a different job - we’ll say so and point you at what does fit. Weights, flooring and lighting are priced separately from the base hire, so the quote you get itemises them.
Who uses them
Tina hired a gazebo for a community event and said: “Erected and secured ahead of scheduled set up time. Returned promptly at end of event to dismantle. Gazebo was in first class condition and stayed firmly in place, despite very windy conditions.” One corporate summer social took four marquees in a single booking alongside the games, and a charity sponsored walk for the Children’s Hospital Charity took seven gazebos, a PA system and a branded gantry. Long-term canteen and extension work for businesses is part of the same service, with weekly check-ins while the structure is up.
Where we deliver
The warehouse puts us within easy reach of the M1, A1 and M18, so Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Chesterfield are all standard runs, with nationwide delivery for bigger bookings, Manchester and Leeds included.
