Rodeo Pumpkin

A giant jack-o'-lantern pumpkin that bucks, spins, and throws you off. It's our rodeo bull dressed up for Halloween, and it's the one we reach for at October corporate events, themed bar nights, student union freshers' fairs, and any autumn do where you want something seasonal and physical.

The pumpkin is one of several interchangeable attachments on the same motorised motion base as our rodeo reindeer, Christmas pudding, rodeo sheep and rodeo bull dog. Riders sit on the pumpkin and hold on while our trained operator controls the speed and movement per rider - dialled right down for a timid 10-year-old at a school reward day, opened up for a warehouse team in high-vis after their shift.

Two built-in digital timers track the current ride and the session's longest time, so the competition runs itself. We can add printed certificates and run a formal final if you want a champion crowned. The pumpkin sits in the middle of an inflatable cushioned bed with safety matting around the outside, and our operator runs it from start to finish - nobody inexperienced touches the controls.

Riders need to be 10 or over and at least 1.1m tall. For younger children at a family Halloween party, our Kids Billy the Bull does the same job at a slower pace for ages 3+. It sets up indoors or outdoors on grass, concrete, artificial grass, wood chip or a mixed hard-surface and grass area. October bookings can be weather-dependent; for an outdoor Halloween event where rain is likely, add our Spider Marquee over the top so the queue and the ride both stay dry.

Every hire comes with £5 million public liability insurance, full risk assessments emailed to your venue ahead of time, and a trained DB operator on the ride for the full three-hour standard session. We've been at this 25-odd years, we own most of our kit rather than sub-hiring it, and we run the pumpkin out of our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham - five minutes off the M1, A1 and M18 - across Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop, Chesterfield and nationwide.
