Nobody expects a sheep. That's what makes it work. Riders climb on, grab the fleece, and try to hang on while our operator ramps up the bucking and spinning. A digital timer on the front logs every ride, so leaderboards and bragging rights sort themselves out.
Mechanically it's the same ride as our rodeo bull: same motorised base, same operator controls, same inflatable safety bed, same £5 million public liability insurance. The comedy factor does different work, though. The rodeo bull has a macho, Wild West thing going on. The sheep just makes people laugh. It loosens a room up in a way the bull sometimes doesn't, which is why it tends to land better at office parties and team building days where you want people to relax rather than show off.
It also works well at agricultural shows, Young Farmers' dos, farm-themed weddings and country fairs, plus any occasion where a sheep on a mechanical arm is funny - which, in our experience, is most of them. Children and adults can both ride; under-10s are better off on Billy the Bull, our children's version that bucks but doesn't spin.
The sheep is in-house DB kit - we keep around 95% of our 600+ products under one roof at our Rotherham warehouse, 5 minutes off the M1, so nothing gets sub-hired in last minute. It swaps onto the same base as our surf simulator, bulldog and seasonal attachments, and we run rodeo hire across Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop, Chesterfield and nationwide. What's Included
Rodeo sheep attachment on our motorised multi-ride base, inflatable safety bed, electric inflator, digital LED timer, trained DB operator for the full hire, safety matting, power cable up to 50m, £5 million public liability insurance, risk assessments and method statements. Standard hire is 3 hours.
Footprint and Access
16ft x 16ft clear area. Minimum 3ft 3in flat access through doorways, gates or corridors. Check ceiling clearance for indoor bookings - the ride arm needs headroom above the bed.
Power
Two standard 13A sockets within 25m of the ride. If your site has no mains power, add a generator from our range.
Who Can Ride
Children aged 10 and over and adults. Minimum rider height 1.1m. For younger children, see Billy the Bull. Shoes come off before riding - we supply the safety matting.
Where It Works
Indoors on artificial grass or hard floors, and outdoors on grass or a hard standing. Not suitable on concrete, on wood chip, or on a mixed grass and hard surface - the inflatable bed needs a stable, even base.
Booking and Delivery
Standard drop-off before 12pm, collection after 6pm. Note your 3-hour ride window in the customer comments. Staff on site until 10pm as standard. We arrive 20 to 30 minutes before your start time to set up. Free PA and floodlights on request. DB hires nationwide from our Rotherham warehouse, 5 minutes from the M1 - a typical Sheffield, Barnsley or Doncaster booking is a short run for us.
