Our giant gashapon machine is a capsule vending machine that stands just over 6ft tall: a clear dome full of prize capsules on top, LED lighting round the base, and a turn knob on the front. You turn the knob, a capsule drops into the tray, a few seconds a turn, a capsule every time. It's also called a gachapon machine, capsule toy machine or gumball machine - the name is Japanese, from the gasha of the crank turning and the pon of the capsule landing.
We hire it out for corporate parties, brand activations, wedding receptions and promotional events, and at events it runs in free play, so there's no coin slot between your guests and their prize.
What Goes In The Capsules
- Empty capsules you fill with vouchers, discount codes, keyrings or branded merchandise
- Pre-filled capsules with small toys
- Plush teddies and soft toys (ours or your own)
- Coloured plastic balls for competitions: fill it with black balls and a few red winners, or gold and silver for tiered prize levels
Not sure what to put in? Vouchers, discount codes and keyrings are the usual for corporate work; teddies for weddings and parties.
Branded To Match Your Event
The machine is built with a neutral white finish made for wrapping. The window panels and body panels take full custom graphics and wraps, all designed, printed and applied by our in-house team. There's more on our branding service.

Every hire includes £5 million public liability insurance, risk assessments and method statements as standard, and 95% of our equipment is owned and maintained in-house at our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, so it arrives well-maintained, PAT tested and on time.
We deliver across Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley and nationwide to the rest of the UK, with regular runs to the NEC Birmingham and ExCeL London. Europe-wide service is available for larger packages.
One thing worth knowing before the day: the machine runs in free play as standard and can be set to token play. If you use tokens, the capsules need loading with a little tissue paper so the sensor can detect each one.

Running The Machine
If you’re using tokens, the capsules need to be loaded with a little tissue paper so the sensor can detect each one. In free play there’s nothing to do.
