When your event is nowhere near a plug socket, this is the machine we bring. The 6kVA silenced diesel generator runs site tools, portable lighting and the lights and heaters in a marquee when mains power isn't an option. It's British-built by Stephill Generators, who've been making generators since 1985, with a Yanmar diesel engine and a Linz alternator.
Quiet for a diesel
The acoustic canopy holds it to around 65 dB(A) at 7 metres, so it can sit behind a marquee or at the edge of a site without getting in the way. It starts on the key and rides on a wheeled site trolley, and we deliver, site and collect it, so nobody on your side is lifting a 203kg machine.
What it will run
4.8kW continuous (6kVA) of single-phase power through 110V and 230V sockets. On a typical job that's several power tools running together, site and event lighting, or the lighting and heating in a temporary structure. The 25 litre tank burns around 1.7 litres an hour, so you get roughly 23 hours at 75% load - one tank covers a full event day with room to spare.
Where it lives
Like any diesel generator it needs to run outdoors, or under cover in a well-ventilated spot where the exhaust can clear, and we'll agree the position with you before the day.
