Stage hire at DB Entertainment runs through a partnership that goes back a long way: Staging Events Ltd, the staging and event infrastructure specialist founded by Dean Bulbeck and trading since 1999. The two companies pool kit, crew and specialist knowledge, which means a school in Rotherham and a national charity walk both end up with the same standard of stage, PA and crew behind them. This post is about how that partnership works and what a stage hire from us includes.
Where the partnership came from
The clearest example is the Alzheimer's Society Memory Walk, which we've supplied together for years. Across a seven-week nationwide programme we've delivered more than 40 stages, handed out 109,000 finishers' medals and moved 90,124 bottles of water through the rehydration points. Staging Events handles the mass-participation production side - stages, PA, start and finish gantries, logistics - for charity clients including Prostate Cancer UK's March for Men and CoppaFeel!, while DB covers corporate fun days, school events and private bookings across South Yorkshire and the East Midlands. Same warehouse base near the M1, same core crew, two specialisms.
What the stage range covers
Four covered stages cover most bookings. The Mini Stage Hire 3x3m is a 10ft x 10ft trussing stage with a roof, sized for a solo act, a DJ or an awards speech, from £925 for day one. The 4x4m Event Stage from £1,095 suits Christmas light switch-ons and small festival slots, and the 6x6m Event Stage Hire from £1,950 gives a five-piece band or 15 performers a 36 square metre deck with wind and showerproof side walls. For headline acts there's the Mobile Trailer Stage Hire, a towable unit with an integrated roof and wind-rated side walls that sets up far faster than a flat-pack build of the same size. All three truss stages build at 200mm, 540mm or 725mm deck heights, with custom heights and accessible ramps available, and branding - side PA wings, banners, skirts - is designed and printed in-house and fitted at setup.
PA, monitors and the crew to run them
A stage needs sound to match, and the PA comes off the same shelf. Our PA and music section covers compact EV ELX systems for smaller rooms, and for bigger fields the Line Array PA Hire - dB Technologies DVA and VIO rigs from £695 for a 14kW stacked system, scaling to 30kW, reaching around 4,000 people indoors. Stage monitors, mixing desks, wired and wireless microphones all sit in the same stock, and a Sound Engineer from £295 can run the desk from soundcheck to pack-down. For Memory Walk-style mass events, the same crew builds the start and finish gantries while the PA covers the announcements.
What a hire includes
Multi-day rates bring the cost down if the event runs across a weekend - the 3x3m stage drops to £495 on day two and £395 on day three, and the 4x4m and 6x6m follow the same pattern. Setup and breakdown are done by DB crew, roughly an hour for the mini stage and around an hour and a half each way for the bigger decks, so a hall booking can fit around a Saturday morning slot. Steps matched to the deck height come with the stage, and every hire carries structural design documentation for the venue or the council's safety advisory group.
What we need from you
Two limits worth knowing upfront. A trailer stage needs firm access for a towing vehicle, so a waterlogged field needs a conversation before booking day - the modular deck systems are the fallback for tight or soft sites. And licensing is the organiser's job; a premises licence or temporary event notice isn't something we can hold for you, though we supply the structural documentation your application or safety advisory group will ask for.
