XL Tetris is the officially licensed giant Tetris Tumble game - the 1984 puzzle rebuilt as a physical stacking game you play standing up. The oversized Tetrimino blocks come in the classic colours, and they stack on a moulded white base that rocks as the tower builds. Take turns placing a piece, watch the tower shift under it, and try not to be the one who brings the whole thing down. Head to head, whoever topples the tower loses; on your own it's a how-high-can-you-stack challenge.
The shapes are recognised by pretty much everyone, so nobody needs a rules briefing. Guests walk up and start stacking.
Where it works
There's no power and nothing to peg down - it plays on grass, concrete, wood chip, artificial grass or a hall floor, indoors or out. Not sure you've got the space? A corner about 2m x 2m is all it asks. It goes out on corporate fun days, school reward days, wedding lawns and freshers fairs, and the official Tetris branding makes it a natural on exhibition stands and trade shows too - exhibition hire in Sheffield covers that side of our work.
The giant games go out to weddings as well. Kate Fletcher told us after hers: “the games were of great quality and delivery and collection was as advised and very straight forward” - that hire was Giant Jenga and Giant Connect 4, and XL Tetris joins exactly the same kind of booking.
Because it runs itself, it's at its best in a busy games corner: Mega Kerplunk, giant limbo and giant snakes and ladders all sit well next to it. The Garden Games Package is the ready-made version - four games and twenty deck chairs delivered as one setup, and XL Tetris is easy to add alongside it. Browse the side games range for more.
Why hire it from DB
We've been hiring out games and event equipment since 1999, and we own 95% of it outright - this set lives in our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, five minutes from the M1. Every hire carries £5 million public liability insurance, and we can send risk assessments and method statements to you or your venue before the day. We're rated 5/5 on Google from more than 200 reviews, and companies we supply include Amazon and Specsavers. Delivery covers Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley and Worksop as standard, with nationwide delivery for bigger bookings.
XL Tetris hires out as an add-on, so there's no quote button on this page. Add it from the extras list when you quote for anything else, or call the office on 0114 345 0135 and we'll put a games package together around it.
Price
- Hire price: from £55
- Overnight hire: add £25
- Delivered orders carry a £1,500 minimum spend plus delivery, so Tetris usually travels on the same van as your other hire
- Collection from our Rotherham warehouse is possible instead, subject to a deposit and photo ID
The Kit
- Officially licensed Tetris Tumble set: moulded white base plus oversized Tetrimino blocks in the classic colours
- No power supply needed
- Any number of players, children and adults, taking turns
Space and Surfaces
- The moulded base is roughly 90cm across; allow a clear area of about 2m x 2m so players can get round it and the blocks can scatter safely when the tower goes
- Plays on any surface we list it for: indoors on hard floors or artificial grass, and outdoors on grass, concrete, hard standing or wood chip
Running It
Hire is unstaffed as standard - it needs no steward, just somewhere flat and clear. We can add a supervisor to run a knockout tournament if you'd like one.
Delivery
Based at our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, five minutes from the A1, M1 and M18. See our delivery coverage page for the full picture.
Build a Games Area
