Stand on the surfboard, find your balance, and try to ride the wave. Unlike our rodeo bull, where you sit and hold horns, the surf simulator has you standing and shifting your weight to stay upright. It's a balance challenge, and it's harder than it looks.
Our operator runs the bucking and spinning from a handheld unit while a digital timer tracks each ride. We can run leaderboard competitions and hand out certificates, and the surfboard sits in the middle of an inflatable cushioned bed - so when you fall (and everyone falls), you land softly.
It's a natural fit for beach parties, Hawaiian nights and summer themed events across Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley, and we journey further afield most weeks. The surf simulator also works well at corporate team building days where you want something physically active but accessible. Our operator dials the difficulty up or down per rider, so it works across a wide range of ages and confidence levels. Michelle said: "We hired the surf simulator for our Beach Party. Every hire comes with a trained DB operator for the full session, £5 million public liability insurance, and risk assessments emailed to you or your venue before the event. We've been hiring out rodeo and multi-ride kit from our Rotherham warehouse for 27 years - 5 minutes from the M1, A1 and M18, with nationwide delivery for larger bookings - and around 95% of the stock on this site is owned in-house rather than sub-hired. Surf simulator hire starts from £345 for a three-hour session.
If you're building a package, we carry a rodeo bull, a football simulator and seasonal attachments - the Christmas pudding and pumpkin both swap onto the same multi-ride base - plus a human roulette disc run by the same operator. What You Get
Surf simulator with inflatable wave surround, electric inflator, digital timer, trained DB operator for the full hire, safety matting, power cable up to 50m, £5 million public liability insurance, and risk assessments emailed in advance. Standard hire is 3 hours; additional hours are £60/hr. That rate is for a standard single-ride booking; on bigger multi-product events we quote the extra crew time as part of your overall quote. Free PA system and floodlights on request.
The Ride
Riders stand on a surfboard-shaped platform and try to keep their balance as the base bucks and rotates. It's a different physical challenge to the rodeo bull - balance and footwork rather than grip. Our operator adjusts the speed and intensity for each rider, so children and adults can both ride.
Suitable For
Children and adults. Indoors on artificial grass or hard standing, and outdoors on grass or a hard surface. It's not suitable on bare concrete, on a grass-and-hard mix where the bed sits half on each, or on wood chip.
Size & Setup
Unit footprint 18ft x 15ft, 8ft tall. Allow 20ft x 18ft of clear space with 8ft headroom and a 3ft minimum access width. Needs 2 standard 13A sockets within 25m. Generators available from our generator and safety equipment range if your site has no power.
Booking
Standard drop-off is before 12pm, collection after 6pm - note your preferred 3-hour ride window in the customer comments and our team will plan around it. Staff work through until 10pm, and we arrive 20 to 30 minutes early to set up.

Hired out from Rotherham, 5 mins from the M1, A1 and M18, with nationwide coverage for larger bookings.
