The Mobile Climbing Wall Enterprise is a four-face rock climbing tower built by Entre-Prises (EP Climbing), one of the world's leading climbing wall manufacturers. It stands 6.6 metres tall, and the moulded surface is shaped with cracks, pockets and overhangs modelled on real rock, rather than holds bolted to a flat panel. Four colour-coded routes run up it at different difficulty grades, so beginners and confident climbers share the tower without getting in each other's way.
Four people climb at once, one per face, and there's no manual belaying anywhere. Each line runs through a TRUBLUE auto belay, which lowers the climber at a controlled speed as soon as they come off the wall or touch down from the top. Around 60 climbs go through per hour, rising towards 100 when the queue is ready and waiting.
We take the wall out to corporate fun days, team building days, school activity days, scout camps and private parties, working on grass or hard standing indoors or out. Sheffield City Council, Doncaster Metropolitan Council, RMBC and Armthorpe Parish Council have all hired it, and schools often pair it with archery for a full outdoor education day. We own this wall outright and have been running mobile climbing walls for over 25 years. - How do climbers get down? The TRUBLUE auto belay lowers them automatically at a controlled speed the moment they let go or reach the top.
- Can children climb? Yes. The auto belay takes users from 10 to 150 kg, so children and adults both get a go.
