DIY Hook A Duck

A traditional fairground duck pond you hire and run yourself - no staff on site. Ten yellow ducks with metal rings on their heads float in a moulded plastic trough on a table; a small water pump keeps the water moving and the ducks drifting round, and players fish them out with the rods supplied. It's a popular, classic Hook a Duck side stall, and children and adults can both play.

Run it yourself for charity or school

DIY means you run it, which is why it's the version we hire out for charity events and school fayres. We can supply good-quality toy prizes at £1.75 + VAT each; a £3 charge per go is roughly what most people settle on. If you'd rather our team ran the stall, the attended Hook A Duck is the same price with a member of staff included.

Where it works

The unit's 4ft tall on a 6ft x 4ft footprint, with 10ft x 6ft of clear space and 6ft of headroom needed for the rods. It works indoors on hard flooring or artificial grass, and outdoors on grass or hard standing - not on outdoor concrete, mixed grass-and-hard surfaces, or wood chip, as the trough holds water and needs a flat, stable base.

We've hired funfair side stalls out of our Sheffield warehouse for 25-plus years, and most of the kit on this site is our own stock, not sub-hired - so the pond, ducks and rods are here when you need them.
