Dinnington Resource Centre is a purpose-built community venue at 131 Laughton Road in Dinnington, S25 2PP, about eight miles east of Sheffield city centre and close to junction 31 of the M1. It went up in 2000 on the site of the old colliery institute and is run as a not-for-profit charity by a mix of staff and volunteers, with a community library, a cafe and crown bowling greens alongside the hireable rooms. There's level access throughout and free parking for around 150 cars.
The rooms
The multi-use function room holds up to 200 people, with a fully licensed bar open until 11.30pm and a stage with lighting and PA available by prior arrangement. The centre can cater functions itself, or you can bring your own plans. Room hire is £40 for a two-hour children's party, and Friday and Saturday night bookings run £120 and £180 with the bar included. Meeting rooms start from £10 an hour, and the community cafe on site does hot food Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The 3G pitch and the grounds
Out the back there's a FIFA-approved floodlit 3G pitch, marked for everything from 5-a-side to full 11-a-side and bookable from 9am to 10pm, plus the bowling greens and recreation ground. If your do is tied to a match on the pitch, our Penalty Shootout gives the people not playing something to compete at.
What we set up indoors
We've delivered to the Resource Centre on multiple occasions and know the layout well. The function room takes the 12x15 Jungle Front Combo and 12x15 Princess Front Combo castles comfortably, along with the Disco Dome, the Large Toddler Play Zone and the rest of our soft play range. The Bungee Run fits the room too, and for mixed-age parties the 15x18ft castles in our adult bouncy castles range take children and grown-ups together. Weddings and evening dos
The licensed bar and 200-person capacity suit weddings, engagements and milestone birthdays. We supply photo booths - the Magic Selfie Mirror has each photo printed and in hand around ten seconds after the pose - along with PA and music packages for the evening.
Booking and practicalities
All hire includes delivery, setup and collection, and we email the centre a risk assessment and insurance certificate before the event. We carry £5 million public liability insurance, own 95% of our kit in-house, and have been going since 1999 with a 5/5 Google rating from more than 200 reviews. Our warehouse is in Rotherham, about 20 minutes away, and we're in and around Dinnington most weekends through the season - Worksop, Rotherham, Sheffield and Chesterfield are all on our regular rounds, with nationwide delivery for the bigger bookings.
