Cub Scout Activities and Event Hire
Activities for Cub packs, district camps and summer camps, from a two-hour pack night to a full activity zone. We have supplied kit for camps of every size, including a Scouts and Guides camp with around 4,000 people on site, and our own crews run the staffed items.
Cubs are 8 to 10 and a half, and a pack can span a wide range of confidence and size in the same evening. The kit that works best for that age group is the kit that lets a nervous eight-year-old have a go and still gives the oldest Cub something to compete at. Spider Mountain, the climbing wall, laser quest, archery and the assault courses all do that without needing leaders to run the activity.
We plan Cub bookings around the venue you already have. A church hall, school sports hall or scout hut can take laser quest, crazy golf, sumo suits or the 70ft assault course. A field or campsite opens up Spider Mountain, the climbing wall, bungee trampolines and high ropes. Tell us the space and we will tell you what fits before you book anything.
What Cub Packs Book Us For
Pack nights are the simplest booking: one staffed item in the hall, an operator who runs it, and a queue of Cubs rotating through. A two-hour session is enough for a pack of 20 to 30 to get several goes each on most items, and the leaders stay free to supervise rather than operate equipment.
District events and summer camps usually want more than one activity. We run two to six items side by side so sixes can rotate around a circuit, with each item staffed and reset between groups. That format works for a district fun day, a camp activity afternoon or a joint event with Beavers and Scouts.
Indoor bookings often include a disco dome or a bouncy castle for the social end of the evening, plus sumo suits or crazy golf for the Cubs who do not want another high-energy activity. Outdoor camps tend to take the bigger physical kit: Spider Mountain, climbing wall, bungee trampolines and the inflatable assault courses.
Cub-Friendly Kit
These are the six items Cub leaders ask for most. All are owned and maintained by us, and each price includes delivery, setup and collection.
Spider Mountain
Scramble net and drop slide for ages 3 to adult. Sixteen climbers at once and about 225 an hour. From £895 for a three-hour hire.
Mobile Climbing Wall
A trailer-mounted wall, 26ft tall, with four routes and auto belay. Two trained staff run it, four climbers at once. £699 per day.
Laser Quest
Inflatable 12m x 12m arena with phasers, fog and electronic scoring. Ages 5 and up. From £599.
Interactive Archery Arena
Safe foam-tipped arrows and light-up targets with a scoreboard. Ages 8 and up, so it suits the whole pack. From £499.
70ft Assault Course
Two racers, twin lanes, a climb and a slide at the end. Children and adults, up to 12 at a time. £499.
For a quieter corner, or a mixed evening, add children's sumo suits, the kids disco dome, 9-hole crazy golf, the Mega Jungle play bus or face painting. Older Cubs can also take on high ropes and the four-station bungee trampolines.
How a Cub Booking Works
Start with the venue. A sports hall needs a clear 12m x 12m for laser quest, around 47ft x 16ft for the Adrenaline assault course, and enough ceiling height for anything inflatable. The disco dome needs about 16ft x 13ft and 11ft of headroom. Spider Mountain and the trailer-mounted climbing wall need outdoor space and vehicle access, so they suit camps and field events rather than a normal pack night.
We send a kit list and a running order before the event, and the crew sets up, briefs the Cubs and resets between groups. If your programme has a fixed flag break, dinner or campfire, we build the activity slots around those times.
Throughput is the number to plan with. The climbing wall moves about 60 Cubs an hour, Spider Mountain about 225, and laser quest runs short games with a queue between rounds. For a pack of 24, one staffed item is usually enough for a two-hour evening. For a district camp of 100 or more, plan on four to six items running at once.
DB's client list includes Amazon, Vodafone and the BBC. Google reviewers have scored the company 5/5 across 209+ ratings, and the kit is PIPA tested.

What Cub Groups Say
The 259th Stephen Hill Scouts booked four pieces for 80 young people at their 70th anniversary celebration. Their feedback was that every Scout, Cub and Brownie had four hours of activity, which is the result we plan for at a mixed-section event.
We have also run activity zones at Scoutastic and at a Scouts and Guides camp in Nottinghamshire with around 4,000 on site, so the kit and the crew are used to working at camp pace as well as in a hall.
Frequently Asked Questions
What ages can use the activities?
Cubs are 8 to 10 and a half. Spider Mountain suits ages 3 and up, laser quest 5 and up, bungee trampolines 6 and up, the assault courses children and adults, and archery 8 and up. That means almost every item works across the whole pack, with archery being the one to check if your youngest Cubs are just eight.
Can you run an activity in our scout hut?
Often, yes. Laser quest, sumo suits, crazy golf and the smaller inflatables fit in a hall, but each has a minimum footprint and ceiling height. Send us the room dimensions and door width and we will confirm what will go in before you book.
How much does a Cub event cost?
A single staffed item for a pack night starts at £199 for the Adrenaline assault course and runs to £699 for the climbing wall. Spider Mountain is £895, laser quest £599 and archery £499. A multi-item district camp usually lands from £1,500 to £5,000, priced by activity count and days.
Do we need to supply staff?
No. The climbing wall, Spider Mountain, bungee trampolines, laser quest, archery arena and 120ft assault course all come with trained operators. The 70ft course can be hired without staff if your supervision plan is agreed in advance, but most packs take the staffed option.
What power do you need?
Most inflatables and games run from standard 13A sockets. If the hall has limited sockets or the camp has no mains power, we can bring a generator and the right cables.
When do Cub camp dates fill up?
Summer camps and district fun days fill early, especially at weekends. Midweek pack nights can often be arranged at shorter notice, so it is always worth asking even if the date is close.
