Jumpin Jack juvenile

The Jumpin Jack is our juvenile drop tower ride - a child-sized version of the drop towers you get at the big theme parks. Children take a seat in the carriage around the base of the tower, ride gently to the top, then bounce back down in a series of small drops and lifts. It gives young riders the drop-tower thrill at a pace that suits them, with none of the freefall of the grown-up versions.

It's a proper fairground piece to look at too. Light bulbs run the full height of the tower from the boarding platform up to the crown on top, a big clown face sits over the carriage, and the whole ride lights up once it's running. It goes up indoors as well as outdoors - we've had it filling a hall from floor to roof.

What the Jumpin Jack needs

• Day hire from £995 plus VAT, with multi-ride and multi-day discounts quoted per event; the minimum spend depends on your location
• The unit stands 75ft by 50ft and 20ft high, so we ask for a level site of about 100ft by 75ft
• Indoors or outdoors, on grass or hard standing - any hall needs 20ft of headroom for it
• Our crew deliver and erect the ride, stay with it throughout the event to see the children on and off, and take it all away at the end of the day
• Secure harnesses in the seats, £5 million public liability insurance, and risk assessments and method statements sent to your venue beforehand
• If there's no mains power on site, we bring one of our generators on the lorry

Booking it with the rest of the funfair

It's the biggest of our ten children's funfair rides, and it anchors the children's end of a full build. A typical funfair pairs it with the Dodgems or the Miami Crazy Dance for the older riders, side stalls from our carnival games range and fun food carts, all on one delivery and one invoice. If your space or budget is smaller, the Juvenile Jump and Smile does an up-and-down job in a far smaller footprint from £495, the Juvenile Tea Cups and Chair O Planes are £795, and Fun Fair Package 1 bundles the giant helter skelter, deck chairs, a seaside photo board and the 3-in-1 side stall from £1,200 plus VAT. Through the season we're out with the children's rides at school fun days, galas and summer fetes across Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster, and the juvenile fleet travels nationwide - Amazon's summer staff events have taken three of our children's rides at a time. Every ride is our own stock, maintained in our 25,000 sq ft Rotherham warehouse, part of the 95% of equipment on this website that we own rather than sub-hire.
