Our 10 Kva Diesel Generator is a silenced MHM MG 10000 SSK with a Kubota D722E three-cylinder diesel engine and a Linz alternator, putting out 10kVA of single-phase power at 230V and 110V. It's the middle size of our diesel fleet: enough for site tools and portable lighting on a job, or the power behind a marquee do with lighting, a PA, fridges and catering kit all running together. Several inflatables come off it as well, since a typical castle blower only draws around 1.1 kW. Hire starts from £195 plus VAT.
Smaller setups are covered by the 5 Kva Diesel Generator and 6 Kva Diesel Generator. These are outdoor sets that sit on grass or firm ground, and none of our diesels should ever run indoors. For power inside a hall or exhibition stand, that's the job for the Instagrid 2.1 kWh Battery Generator.
All day on one tank
The 40-litre tank burns about 2.4 litres an hour, so one full tank gives you around 16 hours at 75% load, and every set goes out full of fuel. It starts on the key, runs water cooled at 64 dB(A) from 7 metres, and the bunded base keeps any spilt fuel inside the machine. Extra fuel hours are £20, £30 and £40 for two, three or four hours more.
Why hire ours
This set lives in our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, five minutes from the M1, and goes out with our own drivers to Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Worksop and the rest of the UK. Every hire is covered by £5 million public liability insurance, with risk assessments emailed to you or your venue before the event. It's the set we supplied to a Scouts and Guides camp in Nottinghamshire with around 4,000 people on site, powering the assault courses, trampolines and fairground rides alongside everything else. June Bingham, who booked that event, said: "from initial enquiry to staff on the event they could not have been more helpful and professional".
