A silenced 5kVA diesel generator for events and sites where there's no mains power to tap into. This one's a Kipor KDE6700TA with key start, wheels and a carry bar, putting out 4kW continuously through 110V and 240V sockets.
What it powers
Heavy duty site tools and portable lighting are the classic jobs. The 4,000 watt continuous output also covers PA systems, marquee lighting and inflatable blowers, which is why it's the size most single-marquee events, school fairs and building sites land on when conventional power isn't available.
Silenced, not a bare frame
The silenced cabinet holds it to 95 dB(A) and the AVR keeps the voltage steady for sensitive kit. A circuit breaker guards against overloads, and the low oil warning shuts the engine down before it can do damage. A full 15 litre tank gives six to ten hours depending on load, longer if it's not working flat out.
One thing to plan for: it burns diesel, so it needs open air around it. We usually site it outdoors close to where the power's needed and cable through.
The right size, or the next one up
If 5kVA is tight for your kit, the same family runs up through the 6 kva, 10 kva, 20 kva and 30 kva towable diesels. Siting and cables
It needs open air, so we site it outdoors near where the power's needed and run cables in. Add cable protectors across walkways and a 32A distribution unit to split the supply around the site.
Delivery
Delivered in our own vehicles from our 25,000 sq ft warehouse near Sheffield, five minutes from the M1, A1 and M18. Same-day or next-day across South Yorkshire, nationwide for larger bookings, with several runs a week to NEC Birmingham and ExCeL London.
