DB Entertainment supplies Segway X2 experiences for corporate events, team building days, and private parties across the UK. We use the Segway X2, the off-road model with oversized all-terrain tyres, wide track, and raised ground clearance. Our units are maintained in-house at our 25,000 sq ft warehouse near Sheffield.
Each booking comes with a fully trained instructor who briefs every rider, sets up a coned obstacle course, and manages the session from start to finish. The X2 handles riders from 7 stone up to 18.4 stone (117 kg), so it suits a wide range of participants aged 10 and up. Each machine takes up to 20 riders per hour, and with two or three running you can put 40 to 60 people through in a single hour. That makes Segways practical for corporate fun days and team building events where you need high throughput without long queues.
Why Hire from DB?
We've been supplying event entertainment for over 25 years and own 95% of our equipment in-house, including our Segways. That means no subcontractors turning up with unfamiliar kit. Most Segway hire companies are quote-only and based in the South East. We publish our pricing upfront (from £595+VAT for 2 machines) and our central UK location keeps delivery costs sensible nationwide.
Every booking includes £5 million public liability insurance, risk assessments, and method statements as standard. The Segways are battery-powered, so there's no generator or mains power needed. Your instructor handles all setup, course layout, safety briefing, and pack-down. All you need is a reasonably flat area of at least 20m x 40m, ideally on grass.
Add to Your Event
Unlike standalone Segway hire companies, we carry over 600 products across 68 categories. Segways work well alongside other outdoor team building activities like Human Table Football, Sports Day, or Tug of War. We can supply everything on a single delivery with one point of contact throughout.

Each Segway X2 handles up to 20 riders per hour. With 2 machines that's 40 per hour, with 3 machines it's 60 per hour.
Ground Conditions
The X2's low-pressure off-road tyres are gentler on turf than most motorised activities. You may see light tracks after the event depending on weather and ground conditions, but they won't churn up the ground the way quad bikes or go-karts would.
Delivery
Based in our 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham, 5 minutes from the A1, M1, and M18. We deliver across South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, and nationwide. Delivery charges may apply depending on location.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to provide power?
No. The Segway X2s run on lithium-ion batteries with a range of around 12 miles per charge. No mains or generator needed.
Can we add Segways to a larger event package?
Yes. We carry over 600 hire products, so you can add Segways to a package with inflatables, games, staging, and catering equipment on a single booking.
What happens if it rains?
The X2 is designed for outdoor use on all terrain. Light rain is fine. In heavy rain or storms, your instructor will pause the session until conditions are safe.
Is there a maximum rider weight?
The Segway X2 supports riders up to 18.4 stone (117 kg). Minimum weight is 7 stone for the sensors to register properly.
Are Segways legal to ride?
Segways can only be ridden on private land in the UK. Our instructor sets up the course on your event site, so no public roads are involved.
