DB Entertainment has been hiring out event kit since 1999, and 95% of it is our own stock, looked after at a 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Rotherham. On the furniture side that means up to 200 British-made wooden deck chairs in mixed stripes, stacking runs of black foldable chairs, canteen folding tables, 6ft foldable tables, Roll-a-Track flooring for the soft ground and massage chairs for wellbeing days. It all travels with the marquees, rides and games on the same vans, is set out by our own crew, and every hire carries £5 million public liability insurance.
Table and Chair Hire for Sheffield Events
Sheffield is the closest city to the warehouse. We’re based in Rotherham, ten to fifteen minutes from the city centre via the A630 Parkway or the M1 at J33, so the vans cover S1 to S36 daily, and S20 through S35 are on the fun-day rounds all summer. Same-week hires are usually fine outside the summer Saturday peak.
The recent Sheffield runs give you the shape of it. 100 black chairs and 17 canteen tables went to a dental practice on Rutland Road for a staff family day; Sheffield College on Granville Road took 35 canteen tables and 20 foldable 6ft tables for a college event; and the community fun days at the Halfway Centre and the Gleadless playing fields have had deck chairs out with bouncy castles and beach-themed photo boards.

Black Foldable Chair
The stacking function-room chair: 82cm high, steel frame, BS 4875 tested, folds flat. It goes out with most builds we run. From £2.95. Add-on item - added from the extras list when you quote.
Massage Chair Hire
Full-body electric massage chairs for staff wellbeing days, offices and gyms, from £449 for a week per chair. Amazon has run month-long hires of them. Add-on item.
Tables, Flooring and the Package Route
The tables go out with the chairs, and the flooring goes under both when the ground is soft. The package at the end is the shortcut if you’d rather not build the order line by line.

1800 x 685mm aluminium folding tables, 13kg each, wipe-clean tops. One person can carry and set one up in seconds, and they work on every surface. £7.50 ex VAT per table per day.

Roll a Track Flooring
Green snap-together flooring that goes under the furniture on grass, mud or gravel. Around 16m2 per £120 lot, and one of our crew lays about 70m2 an hour. Add-on item.
Party Marquee Hire
The all-in route: a 4.5 x 3m marquee, with options adding flooring, then tables and chairs, then sound and lighting, then party lighting and heating. From £89 plus VAT.

A few honest notes, because they come up: delivered orders carry a £50 minimum spend plus delivery, and deck chairs have a minimum quantity that depends on where the event is and what else is on the van. The tables are working hire kit - we wipe them down between hires, but for a smart do we’d suggest tablecloths, which venues expect at those events anyway. And the flooring lives on the ground, so it comes back clean but not pristine. None of that is a problem if you know it going in.

- Roll a Track flooring: green Rola-Trac Lite panels that click together by hand, roughly 16m2 per lot, enough to keep heels out of the mud and give the furniture a level base
- Massage chair: full-body electric, needs a 240V socket within reach and cover if it sits outdoors
- Party Marquee Hire: 4.5 x 3m pop-up marquee with sides and a door; the four options stack on flooring, tables and chairs, sound and lighting, then party lighting and heating

How many chairs will I need?
Work it out from the format rather than the guest list. A sit-down meal needs a chair for every guest plus about 5% spare for late confirmations. A drinks party or fun day needs somewhere between a third and a half of the headcount seated, because people circulate. Deck chairs go in rows facing the action - budget one for every two or three expected guests.
What floors and surfaces do they work on?
The canteen folding tables work on every surface we hire on, indoors or out. Deck chairs and black foldable chairs suit grass and hard standing but not bare concrete or wood chip. On soft or muddy ground the Roll-a-Track flooring goes down first and the furniture sits on that. Tell us the surface when you enquire and the van gets loaded for it.
Do you set the furniture out for us?
Yes. Delivery, setup and collection are part of the hire, and the crew lays the chairs and tables out to your plan - rows for an audience, tables around the edge for a party, a deck chair row facing a stage. If the venue has given you a floor plan, send it over and we’ll work to it. Collection is the same day unless you’ve booked overnight hire.
Can I add tables and chairs to a marquee booking?
Yes, and it works out cheaper than pricing the lines separately. Option 2 of the Party Marquee Hire package adds foldable tables and chairs to a marquee with flooring underneath for £99 plus VAT for one marquee, £159 for two. Or add the furniture to any marquee, games or fun-food quote from the extras list and everything arrives on the same delivery.
