Birthday Parties in Chesterfield

Birthday parties in Chesterfield with the rides, games and inflatables delivered from Rotherham in about 30 minutes. It has a proper mix of venues: a football ground, a family centre, a railway roundhouse and the Peak village halls. This page is for the parties that use them.

Mobile Climbing Wall Enterprise at a birthday party

If you only need a single bouncy castle for the garden, the bouncy castle range is the simpler route. This page is for the birthdays with a venue and several activities.

What we set up here

The town's party venues range from a football ground to a railway roundhouse. Each one takes a different shape of party, and the Peak halls add the country option.

For a Peak District party, the Village Hall at Calver has the stage, kitchen and licensed bar, and it is about 12 miles from Sheffield. Halls and open-air sites take different kit, so tell us which side of town you are on.

Venues for a party

Four rooms we know, with the ceiling and access notes that matter.

  • SMH Group Stadium - Chesterfield FC - function rooms for 40 to 300, including the pitch-facing Chatsworth Suite; 18th birthday parties are regular bookings.
  • Holmebrook Valley Family Centre - a family centre function room at Holme Hall, with level access and country park parking; check the ceiling for combo castles.
  • Barrow Hill Roundhouse - the last operational railway roundhouse in the UK, with exhibition space, a cafe bar and outdoor yards.
  • The Village Hall, Calver - a Peak District hall for around 100 seated or 150 buffet-style, with a stage, kitchen and licensed bar.

There are more rooms than the four above. Football ground, family centre, roundhouse and Peak halls are the ones we know best, but a school hall or a pub room can work too. Send the dimensions and we will shortlist.

Filling the room

Younger children. Family-friendly rooms take the disco dome, soft play and the Adrenaline course if the ceiling allows. Check the height before booking a tall combo castle, and keep the fun food inside if the weather is unsure.

Teenagers. Halls take the dance machine, laser quest and 360 booth. Open-air sites take the Last One Standing. Batak is the one that works in either.

Milestone nights. For a milestone, the bull and AI booth work in either space; the hot tub is the next-day add-on; the bigger grounds can take the funfair package.

Kit that works here

Chesterfield's mix is hall kit plus the pieces for the open-air sites and the Peak fields. Owned and racked in Rotherham.

  • The 220ft Bootcamp course, with staff, for a field or a large open space. Barrow Hill and the Calver field are the local options.
  • A rodeo bull with a trained operator. Allow a 16ft square and 9ft of headroom.
  • A kids disco dome with sound, lights and a bounce floor. Check the ceiling before booking.

Power and access

The venue notes above cover the ceiling and access. The power plan is settled on the site check, and the crew brings the right leads and a generator if the venue needs one.

Why a multi-item birthday books better

One booking covers the delivery, the build, the staff and the collection, so there is no second supplier to chase. The venue gets a single risk assessment, and the party gets a crew that stays for the setup and the handover. We have supplied Chesterfield College and Solidcor, and the same crew works for Amazon, Specsavers and the NHS. We have traded since 1999, carry £5 million public liability, and hold a 5/5 Google rating from more than 200 reviews.

Three setups that work here

A 5th birthday at Holmebrook Valley. The disco dome and soft play take the hall, the Adrenaline course goes outside if the weather holds, and the fun food cart sits by the kitchen. The whole build fits in about an hour. Inside, the dome goes at the far end, the soft play runs along the wall, and the food cart stays by the kitchen so the queue does not block the door. The Adrenaline course needs 47ft outside; if the weather turns, swap it for the dance machine and keep the party in the hall.

A 13th at the football ground. Laser quest in the function room, the dance machine and 360 booth in the bar, and the Batak wall in the corridor. The suite layout keeps the queue moving. The bar stays open for the adults, the booth keeps the group clips coming, and the Batak wall gives the competitive ones a scoreboard without blocking the main room.

A 40th at Barrow Hill. The bull in the yard, the AI booth inside, the hot tub at home the next day, and the funfair package if the yard is big enough. The crew stays for the handover. The bull goes at the far end of the yard, the booth goes inside the roundhouse, and the hot tub is delivered to the house the next morning. If the yard is too small for the full funfair, the High Striker and a stall row still fit.

How a Saturday runs

Most Saturday parties here run the same shape. The crew arrives for 9, builds the hall kit first, then the outside pieces, and the first activity is ready for 10.30. The disco dome or laser quest takes the morning, the assault course or climbing wall runs after lunch, and the photo booth takes over once the younger guests leave. The van is back for the kit at 6, or later if the venue has an evening booking.

Routes and access

The two routes we use are the M1 at J29 for the town and J30 for the Peak side. Barrow Hill is easiest from the A61, and Calver from the A623. If the venue has a narrow lane or a low bridge, tell us before the day; the crew will choose the smaller van or split the load.

Local access notes

At the football ground, the function rooms are upstairs from reception, and the loading bay is at the back. Holmebrook Valley has level access from the car park, with free parking at the country park next door. Barrow Hill's yard is gravel, so the trolley is easier than the van for the last stretch. Calver's lane is narrow; the smaller van is the sensible choice. Tell us which venue you have and we will put the right vehicle on the job.

Before the quote

Before we quote a Chesterfield party, the useful details are the venue address and postcode, the room or site dimensions, the ceiling height, the door width, and whether there is a socket within reach. Tell us the age group and the rough guest count too. If you want staff on the rides, say so at the enquiry; it changes the crew and the van plan.

On the day

We arrive inside the delivery window, build and test the kit, and walk you through anything you are running yourself. Our crew comes back for the collection, so there is no separate returns van to chase. If the venue has a loading bay or a lift, tell us before the day and the crew will plan around it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a birthday here likely to cost?

Prices are per item, not per head. Disco dome and Adrenaline are £199 including VAT, laser quest £599, the dance machine £495, the climbing wall from £699 and the rodeo bull from £395. A three-item Chesterfield party is usually £1,000 to £2,000 plus VAT.

Do you deliver here?

Chesterfield is about 30 minutes down the M1, and the Peak venues add a little more. We cover S40 to S45 and the Calver area with our own vehicles. Delivery, build and collection are in the quote.

Can you work around a venue's restrictions?

Yes. Some rooms have low ceilings, some have loading restrictions, and open-air sites have weather rules. Send us the venue details and we will match the kit.

Do your staff come with the kit?

We can staff the climbing wall, laser quest, bull and booth, and the assault courses. Disco dome and bouncy kit are handover items. For a hall party, staff on the games means your committee can enjoy the party.

What lead time do you need?

Summer Saturdays and December are the early ones. Mid-week Chesterfield dates are usually fine at two to three weeks. A hall or open-air build with several items wants three to four weeks.
